... That I'm not quite as active these days.
It's not a falling out, I've just had a problem concerning my new job. See, I worked in a call center, and the company overseeing it decided they'd shut that part down and give that work to people who resolved issues (the help desk, essentially). So now I work basically pushing paperwork. It's the most oppressively mind-numbing thing I could ever imagine- I'm no bureaucrat, but I need the money to keep on sustaining this life that
chayfox and I have built. Thing is, there's no time for drawing on this job, or chatting with anyone, or any of the things that I used to be able to multitask on the phone.
So as a result... I barely talk to anyone. Not to mention less art (especially commissions, jesus; when was the last time I completed one?). It's got me down, I won't lie. And to make matters worse? Those boneheads made totally the wrong move, and it turns out they DO need the call center (I could've told them that, the overeducated idiots). So basically, I'm hoping that they'll open that back up and I can go do that again, but otherwise, I'm just not as available anymore... and kind of miserable about it.
Either way, that's why there's less stuff. I'm just working hard on continuing Partners, because I couldn't live with myself if I let that fall by the wayside.

Here's hoping someone wises up.
Damnit all, if that's not the most depressing thing I've heard all year. And I'd rant and rave if it weren't so inherently true. =(
Hopefully, you'll be proven right and things can go back to the way you were comfortable with. But if it goes on and you are feeling miserable, the time may come for you to jump ship, so it doesn't hurt to start looking into other options.
You're definitely right. If things don't improve, and fast, I'm tossing in with someone, anyone else.
I would suggest, to you, instead of hoping, waiting, or even praying... walk up to your boss's boss. Not your boss, because he is probably so far down on the totem that when the order came, he just listened. That's all he's gonna do. Listen. No. Go to the guy who's on a different floor, but yet everyone knows where his office is. Don't just storm the dude. SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. He'll probably actually say that isn't necessary. If that's the case, tell him you want a few minutes of his time. Explain to him you've noticed the company is not doing so hot without a call center. Any problems you've come across. Especially mention it if you've found yourself answering one of those call-center type calls just because there's nobody else to do it.
You have to be very careful about your stated position on the subject. Never mention you're unhappy or uncomfortable where you're at. If push comes to shove, that's like leaving your weak ankle exposed. If they don't budge, all they've got to do is sweep you out the door and there goes all the push, and they can go back to business as usual. Unfortunately, shove can also just step right out of the way, which will have you stumbling blind through the corporate ladder. If they think you're good for one solution that you might be good for them all, or, good for atleast enough until your body brakes so they can get some other stoop to come in. Basically, they might offer/put you in a position higher then what you are, or what you were. Even if it's just "head call center guy" you're probably gonna have tons more paper work and people actually breathing down your neck. Be very clear that answering calls is what you know how to do. That you're not some hotshot.
... frankly, I'd take the farm life, myself.
It's disappointing.
It definitely doesn't hurt to keep searching for something better. No free time and mind-numbing work are pretty big problems that can't be left unaddressed for too long.
Always run by psychotics.
I'm back working in one as we speak. Aaaaand am not allowed to do a thing except watch the phone. *Grumble* No multitask 4 u.
So dont rush yourself.
