Macs are....
Well I got a moderately used late 2008 Macbook from a friend, had it for about a week and put Snow Leopard on it.
My thoughts:
What are they overcharging for, the memory I had to replace was the EXACT same that was in my Dell Inspiron from 2008 weird
The install process in OSX is hella weird to me, it seems to be easier by dragging and dropping but why does it mount the installation files like a external drive.
Sound chip is nice, no interference
Seems idiot proof
Not many seetings
Reminds me of a polished "useable" ubuntu
idk
Macs are allright

...
I dunno, I just never had any urge for a mac. LOL
Good times man, colorado was good fucking times.
Just an expensive PC :-|
I just wish people took the time to become a little more computer literate.

Don't believe the whole "Macs don't get viruses" slogan that Apple throws at you as a marketing pitch - because they DO exist.
And because how Apple users have their guard down BECAUSE of that makes the Mac platform a PRIME target for malware.
I also run NoScript and AdBlockPlus on Firefox.
The point is, Macs are susceptible to viruses. They exist.
and viruses can be obtained several ways - not just torrents but hijacked emails, infected networks...and the recent outbreak on Apple seems to be a botnet - which means it sits in the background and doesn't present itself; using your net connection to distribute it's payload.
But hey; that's what antivirus is for.
But hey as long as you don't go to shifty websites, click advertisements and install pointless toolbars you should be fine.
And install antivirus too:

I like ubuntu more though. I feel like if you set up Ubuntu for someone, it'd be easier for them to learn to use than Windows tbh.
It's suppose to take current Windows users and help them segway into the Linux field.
With the easy to use GUI and such.
To help the newer users ease their way into the Linux environment and maybe touch the more advanced distros - like Lubuntu or Debian.
We used Ubuntu in our Linux/Unix class. We hardly used the GUI at all - we did everything in terminal.
Hell you can build a mid-range gaming PC for about $300-$500. It'll run all the current games - not at 100% full souped up graphics; but still high enough to look nice and pretty.
