Commission Etiquette
Hey everyone, I just wanted to post that I just added a short list of previously unwritten "rules" for ordering commissions from me, so if it interests you, please keep reading:
Do not fear: These rules will not affect the majority of clients.
1. Whenever payment is agreed upon to arrive, the amount must be discussed and agreed upon by the time I am to start your project. I will not do work if I do not know what the payment will be, nor will I ever assume you should know this even when ordering something standard off-the-rubric.
2. When you reserve a spot in the queue, you must wait until it is your turn before I begin, NO EXCEPTIONS. It is unfair to those before you and unscrupulous of me to push your work forward. If you needed it earlier, you should have made sure to ask me with enough time to complete previous work, if any, as well as your work-- your time table is your burden, as it is unknown to me. (the only time people might get pushed ahead is if there is an expected delay on a previous commission, in which case the next will be worked on concurrently) If I cannot do it when you need, then go to the next artist on your shortlist.
3. Do not take more than a week to get me the details necessary to begin your project. I literally cannot afford to wait for you to decide, and it is particularly unfair to any who might be waiting after you to have to wait extra time for you to decide what you want. Do not make spurious reservations: it is as disrespectful to me as it is to other clients.
It should also go without saying that I cannot work on anything if I have no idea what I'm working on.
To see them written as they will be on my commissions page, please follow this link:

Regardless of whether or not you see yourself in these, these apply to everyone. :/ No one person was the first to call my attention to these needing listed in a more concrete manner.
