Ugh.

Hello, hello fine peoples.
First: thank you, all my new Watching-type folks, I appreciate every Watch I get!
Second: a big thank-you for all the recent faves and kind comments left on my work. I have not been able to answer folks as promptly as I would like. I appreciate you taking the time to say your words of gracious support, crits and questions. It means a very great big lot to me.
Third: I have been absent here for a couple months and it is unfortunately likely I will continue to be absent for some unknown amount of time. This time it's not by choice; I'm not juggling clients or grading schoolwork.
I am helping my Mom through a profoundly ugly chapter of Family Drama. Most Family Dramas rarely come out of "nowhere". This one is no different but the scale and intensity of the thing is hard to encompass from the middle of the shitstorm. It's the sort of experience the effects of which make themselves known over months and years.
So I'm where I need to be in this crisis: next to Mom, doing whatever needs to be done.
I am lucky to have the Mom I have, lucky to have the friends I have, lucky to have my brave nonagenarian pup, lucky to be alive. I am bound and determined to be back as soon as I can. I've got backgrounds to complete and projects to share and some art I owe to some very good and patient friends.
Thanks for sticking around. You're good eggs.

Good to see you posting Berbalang, it has been sometime.
I can't wait to be free to post again. I haven't felt much of an art jones since this mess started. It will feel good to be doing creative things instead of what I've been doing (like talking to cops).
I miss you too, sweetbean. Let's get together soon as we can. At least you're in the same state!
It'd be great if you were able to head down this way. Hanging out with friends would be such a nice break from the sort of solitude we've been enduring. :3
There's a bustling video-game industry on the West Side of the mountains. I think our economy is getting better in general. What sorts of stuff are you two interested in persuing?
Remember I am still a shut-in compared to most furries/scalies; and the furry world has changed hugely since I got involved back in '92. I has a lot of new folks to meet, methinks. 0_o
What kind of credentials do you need, sir? I am trying to compile a decent portfolio of imagery as we speak. I looked up how to create an artist portfolio, but I have to be honest with you, I *suck* as resume writing and at cover letters. :/ Kol already has a resume, though could probably use help with cover letters for better jobs.
On the up side, Kol got approved for his unemployment benefits from his previous job. He isn't working enough hours and isn't making enough money at his current job to disqualify him. That's good because we at least have some more immediate financial standing, but (obviously) that isn't going to last. *Hugs tight* Let me know when ya wanna come down. ^_^
A resume/CV type thing is what I'm asking for, and the sorts of jobs that would interest you on This Side of the Mountains. It takes a while before you're making all your cash from art. Have the day job at the ready!
*hugstight* talk with you soon, sweet bean.
Thank you, Slither-Sir. When all this is behind me I want to talk about some FYS-Berbie shinanigans (provided you're innerested, natch!).
I will do my best, good sir, I promise I will.
You are a kind, sweet, generous soul. Thank you. *hugs*
Stay strong bol!
Good luck with your work load though, and I know it's hard to avoid but don't stress yourself out too much. Btw good of you to stand by and help your mum, what a good son :3
It will come to an end eventually. When it does I'll help Mom pick up the pieces and we'll move on. I think there will be a lot of good to be had in the moving-on part.
*hugstight* thank you, Onna, you're a dear bean.
