Sorry for the sudden drop of activity...

Alright, so if any of you have been paying attention (I know some have, and others just haven't)...I'm getting a new phone. My current one has been driving me insane and it just doesn't really do much for what I need. However, there was a catch...I had to add a line to my current plan in order to get what I needed. I'm getting an LG Optimus Elite (which is better than my LG Optimus S, sadly), and it should arrive Thursday. During this time, I can't really get online much, as I have to use my old phone (and the signal fails too much anymore when I'm at home) so I'm just biding my time until I can actually tether again. I had to revert my old phone back to the default operating system and that rendered my wireless tether completely unusable. Once I get my new phone, I'll be able to hopefully do more.
That's the good news. The bad news, however, is that this is going to cost about $40 on my bill, extra, per month. Oh, and next month in particular, I have to have another $36 due to the activation. I'm going to get it worked out so that data and text are blocked on my old phone, but that's not going to cut the money by much. I'm giving my old phone to my mom, since she wanted a phone anyway. She'll not know much about Android, so I have to make it as simple as possible for her. I just hope I won't have to pay too much more on top of my current plan...hell, if I just add her phone as a non-smartphone, and make her have just 450 minutes, and then mine just stays on the individual plan, it'd still be cheaper than converting it to everything data on a family plan. So...yeah...heh.
The other thing (and I didn't find this out until after the fact) is...there's a possibility I'll lose my job working for my grandmother's asphalt company. As much as I hate to say it, I kinda need this job...unless I started making serious cash with my writing (which is hard unless you write erotica on a site like this). I need to figure out a way of making money with my writing. I suppose I could make a book and sell it, just fill it with a bunch of poems, but I'm not sure if even that would sell. So, I've really got to figure out a way to do this. It will be hard, but...I may have a solution, if I can actually get there. The reason why I may be losing my job is because my grandmother thinks that if I'm downstairs, that I'm doing absolutely nothing. Yes, I may be sitting on a couch, but I'm also remotely accessing the server with my laptop, and running maintenance. But of course, my mother defends her short temper, saying she has a lot of her plate...well, so does everyone else, and it's not an excuse to disrespect family, yet alone employees. So, there will be two things that can happen to get me to lose my job:
1. I'm fired for "being lazy" even though they kinda need me in order to have a network, or
2. I quit because my grandmother is taking out all of her frustrations on me.
Yes, I do realize I need a job, but I'm not going to swallow my pride just to keep one. If she's going to say I'm lazy and that I do nothing for her business, then when I do leave, we'll see how much she actually needs me after the fact. She needs an operating network in order to do proposals. There isn't anyone qualified to use Windows Server 2008 R2 that doesn't charge less than triple what I'm making (I make $10 an hour). She can threaten all she wants, but until she realizes just how critical my job is, it will prove that she doesn't even value me as an employee. If it wasn't for me, she couldn't get proposals to the customers.
Sorry for the rant, but this week hasn't been a good one already. I suppose I can take some of this quiet time (since I can't do much else) to write some poems...I still have commissions open, and donations are always welcome, especially now. At this rate, it does look like I'll have to write a few books with my poems just to get any money. Oh well...
Take care everyone. I love you guys...I really try to do what I can, it's just not the best situation I'm in now. I'll keep you all posted as much as possible.

Also, I'm sorry, but happy late birthday...I didn't get to say anything, had so much going on...but I hope it was ok hon
That is, if you don't find better work. If she does this, family or not, it's just business to you. Don't go back for the same rate. Maybe she'll be more appreciative. If not, and her business can't function...maybe she'll figure out why. Maybe she'll even pay your phone bill as part of bringing you back. (If you use it at all for her business, that is.)
Maybe she's just having a hissy fit...
Best of luck, Ash. *offers hug*
Sadly my phone isn't used for business...but I think that's a good thing. I'd rather not have my minutes wasted for no reason. Either way, it's just tedious and annoying.
Oh well...*hugs tight*
