FOUND DOG! NEED HELP GETTING HER TO THE VET! PLEASE!
I was coming home from work and found her. She's extremely malnourished and ill, and has a really bad skin infection and fleas. They want to test her for mites and mange. I found her on the side of the road eating a dead animal. She's very sweet, and came right up to me. She has a broken toe, and broken canines. Older German Shepard. I'm taking her to the vet first thing in the morning to get her looked at, but I'm desperate on funds. I don't want my rent check to bounce because I used the money.
Even if you only have a dollar to spare, I'm begging you.
She's so sweet and I don't want her to go to animal control. The severity of the mange is bad, and they'll just put her down because animal control out here are assholes.

Pictures to follow, I'm typing this from my phone so it has to wait until I get inside. She's having separation issues.

If you donate, I'll draw you stuff. If any artists want to help me and draw stuff for people who donate, please let me know. Spreading the word will help me too. Anything, please. I know this community is filled with good hearted people. I've seen people come together here, and I'm asking for this dog's sake that you'll come through for her, too. She needs help. We've nicknamed her 'Sugar', because she's so sweet.
screamqueen1991 is going to help me draw for people who donate! Thank you!
twotailed is also going to help me draw for people who donate! Thank you!
EDIT: 5 minutes after posting this journal, after I go inside. She got off of the tie out and just cried at the door until I came out. She didn't go anywhere, claiming loyalty and gratefulness to me. She's now in the kennel we have for the boys outside, because we can't bring her in because of the mange. She's sleeping soundly on the puffy blanket in there. I'm so glad its not raining.

For the fleas, you can bathe her in Dawn to get rid of the bulk of them, then use fabric softener (watered down, 1:1 ratio) and pour it over her. It will repel fleas (especially the lavender scented kind, I do this to my dog twice a month, no fleas). If you decide to do this, I'd say wash her in Dawn, then the Murhpy's Oil Soap, then use the watered-down fabric softener.
For her malnourishment: vets will tell you not to feed dogs table food. I have had many many dogs, mostly rescues, and to put fat back on them you NEED to feed them table food. I would suggest cooked rice and gravy mixed with her dog food. If she has broken teeth, soften the hard dog food before feeding her so that she doesn't do further damage until you can get her to a vet and they can assess her.
I hope all of this helps!!! I'll watch you so I can see how she's doing and how she progresses!
The dawn and fabric softener I've known about, I just prefer to use the medication for them. (Having two dogs already myself)
She definitely needs the table food to get some meat back on her, for sure.
Thank you so much for the tips and advice! I really appreciate it. Working at a pet store and working around dogs my whole life, I've learned there's always something new to learn! Thank you!
My little dog Teddy died last Christmas after almost 16 years at my side. Every time I come home from work and he's not there to greet me, it breaks my heart. I miss him every single day. But you can't turn back time.
I can afford to send you a few dollars. Please hug Sugar for me and take good care of her, and yourself. Good Luck.
