Do you go out of your way to be social and go to do social things?

I try to, but it's hard when you don't have anyone to do that with. How do you find ways to be social when there's no one to socialize with? I also go so long without talking to anyone that when I finally am around people, I'm awkward. :|

IDK, go out and do things. I would say like, tomorrow I will go out to the tea house and drink all the tea and bullshit with all the old ladies :3 There is a sassy ex WW2 welder badass who can't hear for shit but swears like a sailor and spits curses and hate at everything ever. She's my favourite <3

Or I might go to a furmeet and be the only non awkward one there.

Pick up a hobby(OTHER THAN FURSUITS THIS IS THE SOUL EATER OF HOBBIES) that involves going out. Games Workshop was a personal favourite for a long time.

I have a friend who is a constant complainer. Every word out of her mouth is a complaint. For that reason, we're not as close as we once were. I know exactly how you feel, and those kinds of one-sided conversations aren't fun to sit through.

If they call, just put the phone down, let them rant while you watch tv or whatever, just pick up the receiver every once in a while and say "uh huh" and put it back down. It works better than you'd think it should.

I'm not gonna say I never complain about my life cause that clearly isn't true, BUT I can promise to not have one sided conversations. I generally like hearing about others more then I like talking about myself. I'd much rather be the listener.
