That would be the quick way to do it. Tho that would cause a slew of problems ranging from specialty jobs like doctors to less important but still needed waste management. No what I would prefer is to simply limit the new births into the world in some way. I suppose I was harsh about the number of people, but take a look at any world population growth chart over the last thirty-fifty years or so. Then take a look at how people treated one another at those times. Yes I understand technology is a large factor to how people now interact but people do not seem to have any value of anyone's life that does not connect to their own. Yes there are still quite a few good people, but the vast majority do not really care..

Here's something to be thankful for- every artist gets these people asking them to draw freaky shit like this, but in MUCH larger quantities.
As a writer people know that your work actually takes a 'long' time to create, and you're avoiding the random-ass requests of drawing/writing people's characters. You also have a better alibi for saying "no, this is my story to write".
But yeah, those people are crazy and the less you have to interact with them the better...

I've always liked stories with unhappy endings, gritty endings, endings which make you angry or sad. Stories are art and art just needs to make you feel SOMETHING. Good or bad.

Secondly and I think this is more of the point auspher was making. Just because you invest your time enjoying a narrative based work does not mean you are entitled to determining the direction of the story. You and anyone else enjoying it are just along for the ride. Your rights only extend as far as whether or not you decide to keep reading, that's it. You are only entitled to share your ideas if you are specifically asked to by the author and if they disagree, that's it, conversation over.

I've seen this occur more and more on the internet. Most recently with Arby and the Chief which is in its final season, and fans are complaining about the darker tone and tragic ending it seems to be heading towards but from a narrative stance is quite compelling and thought provoking.
