It will be slow going.... Right now I had to reboot, wiping out the written document I was working on for homework.

No rush, no worry. Hope your PC behaves a bit better now. Have you tried cleaning it up? Not ALWAYS effective, but it can sometimes make a huge difference. Let me know if you'd like some advice in that direction.
