My dad's Mini Dachshund, Sally, has a cancerous lump on her left hind leg. Now she is like a member of our family, a little sister more like it. She's 9 going on 10, her birthday is October 23rd. She's given birth to four healthy litters of pups and she's a very loving and protective little girl. My dad called me earlier this week thinking that he'd have to put her down and it was very crushing to find that out. He asked me to come with him to the vet since I was with him when he got her. She's dragging her leg but she still has that sparkle in her eyes. That's when my dad decided that it wasn't fair to her to give up on her. Her vet visit this morning went well, she was very well behaved and didn't raise a fuss during her x-rays. Her surgery won't be until late this month or early November. I'm glad that she's getting another chance because I know she's got a few more good years left in her.
