SHAKE YOUR RUMP!

It's amazing what listening to some Beastie Boys will do to your inner artist!
I've become a different artist as of late. I've started righting some poetry. Urban poetry or hip poetry I guess. They're not in a classical style, and the word poet has been lost in this society, so I'm setting forth to redefine the term. I would love to get these little stories published. I would upload them here, but I don't want no one to steal my ideas. Maybe I'll tease a freestyle poem one day soon. I would say I'm writing these from the perspective of a songwriter per se. So I'm not sure if I could call them poems. But it's good to be going in a different direction.
I lost my job in November, so funds have been tight. But thank God things aren't worse. For I'm better off then some people. This free time has see me starting to catch up on the entertainment field. I've started watching Breaking Bad and it's a good show so far! I just finished the 5th episode of Season One. My city, Albuquerque, has seen a lot of tourists come here to check out the locations of the show, since it was filmed here. I also started watching Regular Show. While I've lost faith in animation these days, this show has rejuvenated my interest in toons. Great show! Reminds me and some of my friends and all our crazy adventures.
I've started reading a lot, too. So far I've finished the following books:
1. "No One Gets Out of Here Alive: The Biography of Jim Morrison"
2. "Into the Wild" which was about the life of adventurer Christopher McCandless. I recommend the movie as well.
I'm currently reading "Three Weeks with My Brother". A story of two brothers who spend three weeks traveling the world together.
I've been jamming to some great music from the likes of Katie Melua, Nick Hexum's solo debut and Gabriella Cilmi. All three of these CD's are their latest efforts. I pre-ordered them and all came with autographs!! I love when artists do things like this for the fans! Of course, I've thrown Beastie Boys in the mix as well. In addition to all the many other artists I listen to.
I bought a new Ipod Nano, the newest generation. I'm having a bitch syncing it on my old PC, which still has a lot of my music on it. I'm gonna need to buy an external HD soon to transfer my music so I can start syncing on other devices soon.
As we know, these past couple of weeks have seen both Paul Walker's and Nelson Mandela's deaths. RIP to these two. One was a good actor whose life was cut short too soon, and another was a revolutionary who changed South Africa, and perhaps, the world forever. R.I.P.
Man, this year has saw me soul searching on a whole other level. I'm not that old yet, but time gets you thinking on the state of the world as well as your own life.
I continue to live to see the world, and perhaps even more great things one day.

Sorry to hear that you have lost your job, man. :( If anything, I'm up for commissioning you at some point. :)
And hey, I hope the poetry thing works out well for ya. :)
