Out of gas and other deflations

Checking on things the other day I notices that the helium cylinder I own was almost empty. In fact there was just enough to fill a foil Rainbow Dash I got at MFM last year. I know there is a "shortage" if one exists, so I expected to see an increase in tank exchanges.
What floored me is that the price had doubled since I had it done last year! One place told me that it would be $180+ for my 110cu foot cylinder while everyone else said it would be about $100 to $118 for the same thing. I'm not a happy bunny.
It's a moot point anyway since I swallowed a $2,500 pill last month ( http://i58.servimg.com/u/f58/11/21/.....9/100_1510.jpg if you're curious. ) Even with my insurance it put a big hole in my budget for the near future.
Another thing I've learned is that no matter what someone says, it can be misinterpeted. I usually have that problem when talking to someone from another country. American idioms and sayings don't translate. Puns don't work, and the same word can have totally different meanings.
Sad to say it causes no end of grief and confusion. I sometimes feel that I have to think twice about everything I say or it will make someone angry. *shakes head sadly*
To all whom I've made feel slighted, forgive me. I make enough mistakes as it is. I suppose it's because I'm only human.

*hugs* I posted up a journal for my comnissioners. My laptop is down and the one I am borrowing is very slow so digital art is a butt pain. Would you want some traditional art instead. I can even bring it to FwA if you are going or mail it. Unless you want to wait on digital.

Duncan has mentioned how high the price of helium has gone. Don't worry too much about people getting upset with you due to a misunderstanding. I was never one for "political correctness" to begin with. If you accidentally offend someone, you apologize once. If the apology is accepted, great! If not, oh well, life goes on, and there are better people out there to talk to.
