Christianity is being attacked....

It has come to my attention that Christians have been systematically bashed, discriminated against, and persecuted in a relentless display of bigotry!
Here, according to Christian News Wire, are the top 10 (actually 11) instances of Christian Persecution in 2008 (and editorial commentary):
* Jack Black in "Prop 8 the Musical" Christians are mocked and the Bible's teachings are distorted (The bible doesn't REALLY proscribe shrimp. Oh wait, it does. And how dare they point out inconsistent interpretation of scriptures!)
* Bill Maher Attacks the Pope Maher points out that when a cult abuses a hundred kids, it' gets raided, but when the Catholic church abuses thousands, it doesn't. (I'll side with Maher on this one.)
* ESPN anchor says "Fuck Jesus" Anchor Dana Jacobson said "Fuck Notre Dame." "Fuck Touchdown Jesus." "Fuck Jesus." (It wasn't on air, it was at a private roast, ESPN suspended her, and later she apologized on the air, even though no video or audio recordings of the incident exist. Apparent celebrity Mel Gibson is allowed to be publicly pro-Christian, but another celebrity is not allowed to be privately un-Christian.)
* University Professor Desecrates Communion Biology professor Paul Myers desecrated the host by not swallowing it immediately. (Paul Myers is best known for his blog Pharyngula and is a noted skeptic. Instead of swallowing the cracker, he held it in his mouth to take back to his seat to show a friend, and was physically accosted by the minister who tried to force him to give it back. The article also forgets to mention that he has received death threats. Personally I find this insulting, as I have not gotten nearly the same amount of attention for my own desecration of not one but dozens of bits of the body of Christ.)
* Religulous the Movie Bill Maher savagely attacked Christianity. (The movie "did not cover any new intellectual ground" (I didn't know there was any) and merely "raised the old attacks." Never mind that it was about religion in general and covered a LOT of different religions, this was clearly a case of CHRISTIAN persecution. I'm sure both people who saw the film were offended.)
* Chaplains Fired for Praying to Jesus The state of Virginia and a federal court has stopped Christians from being able to pray to Jesus. (Naturally they make it sound like you can't pray AT ALL anymore. Oh, except they left out one detail: it regarded "formal" prayers preceding official state functions, requiring that they be non-denominational in nature. In this case I guess "persecution" includes "not being allowed to force Christianity on everyone.")
* Colorado Law Criminalizes the Bible Governor Bill Ritter signed into law SB200, making publishing the Bible illegal! (Oh, well. Not REALLY... SB200 merely expanded anti-discrimination laws to cover sexual orientation and gender identity. The next step will surely be the confiscation of bibles and the shuttering of churches. *nod*)
* Barack Obama Defames Christianity Barack Obama is not a Christian even though he claims to be. (According to the press release, they have determined that Obama's stance on various issues measured by "any biblical and historic Christian standard" clearly indicate that he is not a TRUE Christian.)
* Radical Homosexuals Assault Prop 8 Marriage Supporters in California Stories flooded in of Christians being verbally and physically assaulted, churches vandalized, and clergymen's lives threatened. (No references are cited. The first page of Google hits for 'prop 8 violence' includes: 4 references to violence on supporters of prop 8, all posted to Christian websites or self-reporting of incidents, but none with any clear indication of veracity.... 3 references to general rancor on both sides... 2 references to violence on opponents of prop 8, similarly unverifiable... and 1 reference to people complaining about the measure passing on blogs.)
* Senators Abuse Power US Senator Grassley has maliciously requested the financial records of several evangelical organizations. (... investigating whether they're using their tax-exempt status to illegally promote specific political candidates and issues.)
This shocking and unjust abuse of Christians must stop! Only when the bigotry and intolerance ends will Christians be able to resume their righteous cause of telling everybody else how to live and silencing any dissent against our One True Lord, Jesus Christ.

Oops! I guess I must be a horrible persecutor of christianity too! Oh noes!
Personally I'm all for persecuting any and all major organized religions because they simply are used as a means to brain wash the masses and gain power over others.
Cause you know, you just cant have people believing the truth, or thinking for themselves! No no you must Kill the heretic! Burn the witch! Purge the unclean!
And maybe sodomize a few children along the way while your at it.
