Today is The Lion King's 20th Birthday!
For those of you who didn't know, or don't follow me on twitter, today (June 15th) is the 20th anniversary of the release of "The Lion King"! Go find your nearest lion and give him lots of luvs and hugs today!
And, yes, I'm aware that the timing of my last journal / Disneys announcement is a little ironic, given my feelings on the matter... But hey, I won't let Disney Jr. ruin the celebration of the 20th anniversary of one of the greatest movies of all time!
And yes... It was 20 years ago today that the movie came out... We can all do a collective "I feel old now" on 3... Ready? 1... 2... 3!
=3
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIONKING! LONG LIVE THE KING! ^_^

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIONKING! LONG LIVE THE KING! ^_^
one of the best Dysney's movie evah
Lion King will always be one of my childhood treasures!!
I was hoping that Disney will release some anniversary documentary or something for anniversary but so far, no info :/
We are, however, having a MASSIVE LK celebration party at Rainfurrest this year to commemorate the anniversary, though.. so that'll be fun at least
I was just hoping for re-re-re-release on Blu-ray with remastered material about how the film came together because I-love-this-stuff. All this creative process behind that and how they had to develop the characters, environment, plot and why the heck they had to work three years on 5min scene ;)
And why always the fun stuff has to happen over the pond? Now I'm proper jealous. But at least I'll have my share of fun watching TLK with Kael and Aaron and trying to get them drunk (which I doubt will be a challenge since I'm always last one standing and slighty-tipsy when everyone else is smashed)
And heh, sounds like something else we have in common... I'm an ungodly heavyweight when it comes to booze... frustratingly so, sometimes. It does come in handy when trying to get the smaller little lions all nice and intoxicated, though =3
And ungodly heavyweight you say? Now I'm really tempted to go across the pond to check if finally someone can keep up with me ;)
And heh, yeah.... I'm a big Irish guy and I've been drinking since I was a little kid, so I hold my own pretty well... Lets just say I have something of a reputation among furrs on this side of the pond! I'm -always- up for a fun, friendly challenge, though =p
I just wonder what
But don't worry, I won't call you out on your mask if you don't call me out on mine
And those similarities are a bit worrying but at the same time I'm extremely curious how much in common we can actually have.
And heh, you ever want to chat or somethin, you're always welcome to add me on messenger sometime man! =3
20 years ...OMG time runs so fast
I can still love my cartoons and enjoy life as if I was still young...well...actually nowadays I can do it BETTER then I could when I was younger.
Now I have money and a car
For better or for worse, this movie has impacted and influenced my life and the chance to be a part of so many wonderful things and friends
Wishing you a year full of love and joy.
After a birthday is to have a chance to make new friends, help more people, learn and teach new lessons, experience other pains and old problems endure.
New reasons to smile and cry others, because loving others is to give more protection, pray more prayers and thank you more often.
Making Birthday is mature a bit more and look at life as a gift from God.
It is to be grateful, recognized, strong, fearless.
It is rhyme, verse is to be, is to see God in the universe;
Congratulations to you Simba The Lion King that day so great.
There have been many more amazing animated movies which have come out in those 20 years, whether from Disney or other studios, and I love them all, but Lion King will always rule above the rest, for so many reasons which really need no enumeration since it's just preaching to the choir here. :P
Oh and yes, Lion King was how I got into furry too, albeit roundabout. ^_^
