I found some SHROOMS
found them in the woods
and then
proceeded
to
leave them there and walk away.
... yea i know this is anti-climatic

Delicious - subtle woody flavour, best I've tasted.
Sadly my body decided they weren't fit for purpose, so I ended up in the casualty department with the rest of the bag I picked.
Nothing much happened afterwards, so I'm thinking it might've been something else I'd eaten... although there was this brief yellow flash of colour before they turned white, which the guide hinted mightn't be a good thing.
I'll be more circumspect next time, but I'm not entirely off-put. :)
50-80% of people who eat them don't live.
if your liver doesn't live you need an immediate liver and/or kidney transplant within 16 hours
I don't expect it to happen again for a while - I only see wild mushrooms every five or six years and still more rarely somewhere I'll think about eating them.
Thanks for underlining the danger though!
