Species Question

I wish for you . . . you know I do . . . when Iām wishing on a star . . .
General question to everyone. What species would be a good choice for a gypsy type character?

Seriously, a peacock sounds fascinating.
If I am not mistaken I also read somewhere that, especially in the ancient times, gypsies had always a special relationship with horses and were also famous for being expert in breeding and riding horses.
So for this reasons I keep thinking that the horse would be a good choice for a gypsy type character.

It could be a cat, a fox, a raccoon, a crow
Seriously, I would suggest a species native to India. The term "gypsy" most often refers to the Romani people, an itinerant group of Indian origin who entered Europe in the 14th to 15th century. A panther or a tiger or an Indian elephant would make a good gypsy.
I could see a panther or tiger.
