I gave in and got a 3Ds and Monster Hunter 4 less than a week ago and just cleared low rank solo. I have yet to fail a quest. That Elder Dragon was quite fun as a hammer user...but that much rolling and diving about ruined my fingers!

It is sooooooo worth it. Best Monster Hunter to date, though I kind of miss some of my favorites from 3.

I killed 36 Nargacugas to get 2 very rare drops. ;A;
They're such adorable bloodthirsty bats.

I didn't have a hard time against him, to be honest! I found him easier than the Gore

I actually agree with this assessment too. Compared to Gore, you can be far more prepared by the time you reach Shaggy. I even forgot nulberries and spent most of the fight blighted since he's too jumpy and pouncy to hit often enough most of the time with a hammer. I had a lot of healing items left by the time he died 18 minutes in though.

I think it's more the fact that he has a more stable pattern than Gore. Less sudden shifts and all that.

Point. He is very jumpy, but you just have to get your hits in at the right time and use your combos wisely to get non-blight. Oh, and stay near jump points, then make sure his AI angles toward them right.

Hah, I got destroyed for the first time when I got to the Gore Magala hunt quest >< to be fair, was running around with Tetsucabra Armour Set so...

My armor progression so far has been Tetsucabra->Basarios->Cenataur. I think for Gore I was still in Basarios. Shagaru acts like it's pissed off all the time though, at least Gore gets nice and slow when he's tired!

Tetsu was nice but for a while there the poison and sleep resists from Basarios were convenient(hi Nerscylla and Gypceros and Gravios!). I might even slap it on again for Garuga. That Cenataur has been pretty crucial since it lets me sharpen with one swipe, doubles my sharpness retention....and looks awesome. :P

Well let's see, after killing approximately 36 nargacugas on MH3 to get 2 medullas, I cashed in on my bad luck by getting an uragaan pallium like instantly.

I clearly just need to stage an epic hunt against onem onster before going for something rare. :P

I can't make a mountain of 36 Nargacugas and Narjarala knew better and gave me like 6 chilling beaks before it reached that count. I must hunt something else! I hope I don't have to kill 30 giant crabs. ;A;
