This is the reason writers MUST BE persistent. There was one famous writer (I forget her name) who published no less than five books that no one would look at before - bingo - one of them became wildly popular. Then immediately the others began to sell.

In here (and trust me on this) most people do not read. Even the art seldom gets more than a look and a fav if it's liked. The optimum for getting read is about four pages. This is why I so enjoy doing the Thursday Prompts... and even those don't get that much traction until people begin to gain an interest.

Hang in there. Associate with other writers and make some friends there. What you do with your writing life is up to you but above all else you have to remain always persistent.

Thanks, vixyy. I'm surprised you're still watching me here after so many years of inactivity. I suppose that you're right as well. For one thing, FA isn't the best place for writing. For another, it takes a lot more time than I've given it. I'm letting my disillusionment with life as a whole color my experience here. That's not quite fair.

You're still doing the Thursday Prompts? I'm amazed that the writing side of FA hasn't developed in all of the years the site's been around. The entire reason SoFurry popped up and has been doing so well was due to that void, it seemed. Though I still don't really want to rely on that site for posting my writing. As much yiff-centric as FA has always been, SoFurry has always seemed worse. Then again, it started out as 'YiffStar,' so it's not hard to see why I'd feel this way.

I should really learn to make new friends. I've not done much of that in years. Wanting to make a living writing is probably a far stretch when I've not even written that much over the past many, many years. Aside from some non-fiction stuff for work, and then my mountain blog on WordPress, I've really been quiet in the realm of the written word.

You're more than welcome Pardo. I have to admit that I do little reading myself as I'm more tied up with the writing. I still try to read all the TP's because I feel that's a part of it. I too tried SoFurry and gave it up for the same reason. I have a site on Weasyl, though I seldom use it. Seems I'm stuck being here.
