Homeward Bound! Big year ahead! 1 week 'til Seattle.
It's early in the morning on June 9th as I'm writing this,
Grungebunny and I have lived in isolation from the furry community since travelling to Vermont for work last year. There are a few scattered furries in the state but the couple of meetups they've had never worked with our schedule. I'm happy to say, its finally over, we've finished all the work we came out to do. I've got one last day of welding to finish up, and I'm about to get dressed and go do that. I also have a few small blacksmithing things to make, but I'll be done by Friday morning.
Since we've been out here I've:
Trained with several local blacksmiths over the year, vastly improving my skill set.
I lost 70lbs and increased all my lifts, I'm now benching over 225.
Traded our shitty Ford Focus for a Subaru Forester
Got a big Tow behind trailer and tow hitch for the Forester
Got a new Lincoln 350mp welding machine, set up for TIG and MIG
Got a new Thermal Dynamics 52 plasma cutter and a kick ass air compressor
Got a ton of other tools, portable bandsaw, drills, measuring tools, and other cool stuff.
Built a one of a kind professional portable blacksmithing forge that fits in the tow behind (I'll be uploading pictures once the finishing touches are complete)
We also have enough money saved up to travel and camp all around Washington for the rest of the summer!
I'll be honest, the payoff was great. But it was a LONG, sometimes miserable year to get to this point. I don't think we would ever do something like this again. We miss our friends and the furry community, we miss the landscape and people of the Pacific Northwest. There really is no place like home.
We'll be leaving Saturday morning, and we'll try to make it back in 4 or 5 days of driving.
I'll be doing a big Blacksmithing Demo at "All's Faire" the 3 day LARP event and Ren-Faire at Bonnie Lake WA June 19th, 20th, 21st.
I'm going to have blacksmithing stuff in the art show at Rainfurrest 2015 "Swords and Sorcery"!!! I'm so excited about this, its going to be a major highlight of my year. I've never been in a Furry Art Show before, since I generally don't make "Furry" art, but the "Swords and Sorcery" theme has inspired me to make quite a few anthro and animal themed pieces that I think people will find VERY cool.
See You all back in WA, hopefully by the 17th.

Lol; thank you. It's actually tough to decide what to post and what to save as a surprise for Rainfurrest. I'll probably be able to upload pics of my portable forge after All's Faire".

Sorry we couldn't hang out while you are visiting Vermont.

Yeah, we were just so busy this whole year. None of the main meetups fit our schedule, plus we were saving every penny we could for this upcoming year. Hopefully if we come out again on a vacation, we'll be able to schedule a hangout.
