I don't think that much will be changed because since IMVU bought FA, things get more and more down. The whole "IMVU loves us and wants to support us" shit get clear and it's visible that of course they want FA to make money. No company would support an artsite without getting anything from it.

Ich dachte zuerst ja, daß IMVU eher investieren will, um damit dem amerikanischen Steuerzahler zu schröpfen. Scheint aber, daß sie es auf andere art ernst meinen.

Auf FA ist halt einfach jeder und jeder hat nen FA account. Bei anderen Seiten sind die Artists und so eher verstreut.

I guess i regret to be the first to tell you that the furry fandom is fucked up. and if you cant tolerate all that it comes with or at least a good majority of it, and turn a blind eye to the rest then why would you even come to this website? I'm not interested in real-life porn. in fact it disgusts me. and unlike you, porn isn't what makes up furry for me; if it does for you it might be you turning a blind eye onto something.
I'm using adblock, so many more do. but not everyone does, and I caught it that on many mobile devices (aptly named "smart phones") adblocks don't work correctly. so, what about those users who probably don't want to see them ads, either?

major changes are easily demanded if you are not the one running a site the size of FA. it might have missed you on your high throne, but the vast amjority of users here don't pay a dime for the opportunity to use this platform for their causes.

and even more so, having to use adblock also means the artists who pay for their ad banners don't get exposure. but what does it matter to you as long as you get your daily porn fix?

Human porn ads are just... a weird combination of not my bizarre fetish and way too real at the same time. Just... no... don't need to see sallow-pink monkeys pounding away like that. Some... slightly different way would be okay, but they manage to hit exactly what I don't want to be looking at.

I've seen an entry yesterday where Dragoneer twittered that them ads happened as a horrible mixup of ad providers, or something, and they were working out a solution. so maybe all the fuzz was for nothing? I hope so. then again, many artist already took off to somehwere else, so I will be start using my weasyl either way. :P

And frankly, even if you don't agree, they have a right to be upset. Signing a petition is a completely normal thing to do when presented with this sort of stuff. So go ahead and take your own advice if it comes to it: don't like people complaining? Keep scrolling. Simple as that.

well for what its worth, and not dissing the concern, i'm not using adblock, and i haven't seen them for a couple of months.

so either you were lucky, or we all are lucky. :) from what I gather it's good you hadn't have to see them.

I for my part am in a way lucky as I can't barely stop laughing when I allow the webbrowser to show off-site content.

I get ad's for the totally wrong target audience.
Like I read in a few threads: Furries love cougars, but those of the feline, not the elderly human type.
In my case, however, it's Windows ads.
So far I haven't gotten any adult ads, despite running in NSFW mode and being a regular visitor to a set of porn sites.
I really don't understand whatever mechanism is actually producing the ads, but it's inappropiate and hopelessly incompetent.

So, judging how irritating and pointless the offsite-ads are for me, I can fully understand how hilariously angering they must be for you guys.

ich hab schon länger Adblock am laufen, somit weiß ich nicht, was bei mir rumkäme. ebay- oder amazon-ads sind manchmal treffsicher, der rest wird eh blockiert.
aber wenn nur die hälfte stimmt von dem was andere berichten, inklusive malware und anderen scheiss, dann hat das hier nichts zu suchen. dies ist SpartaFA, und nicht Geocities... XD

natürlich sind viele ängste um die eigene reputation übertrieben, aber dennoch; was wenn jemand wichtiges (familie, kollegen, boss) ohne adblock über FA stolpert, und trotz allem selbst als gast noch die verschärfte ladung abbekommt? was in deutschland/europa nicht gar so ein problem ist, kann in amiland schon einen job kosten. und mehr. insofern kann ich verstehen daß manche angst haben.

ich hab irgendwie den eindruck, daß Dragoneer so gar nix mehr zu sagen hat seit dem verkauf. oder es hätte diese ads nicht gegeben. er weiß ja, welch exquisites drama draus erwächst. und IMVU werden zugucken, und wenn die userbase wegbricht, wahrscheinlich einfach die server abschalten, udn den amerikanischen Steuerzahler mit dem verlust behelligen.
