Seattle Apt Hunting Woes

Ugh, nothing's more discouraging than apartment hunting for a place to live in a state/city you've never been to before.
Like I said before, I'm looking to move to Seattle some time before summer of next year. So, I've been occasionally searching for apartments on the various websites, as well as Craigslist and the Seattle sub-reddit. I'm starting to regret that now, as now I have doubts that I'll even be able to make that happen. Everything's just so expensive or has something wrong with it in a review, it's all very disheartening. I still haven't gotten any call-backs from the plethora of jobs I've applied for up there- or the ones here in OKC- so that's another hurtle in my way, which will just make it that much worse to find a place to rent when I move up there, if I even get to now. It's starting to look like circumstances/fate is conspiring against me to keep me from going up there.
That, and all of these disheartening facts that keep piling up are doubtlessly causing some anxiety flare-ups, but that's a different animal entirely (lol XP).

Hi, my name is X, and I'm looking for a place in Seattle for (price range) and number of bedrooms/size, any must have you want, and see what happens.
I'm still on 'volunteer status' at my job, ... for the past 2 years, a hobby/gaming store, so don't get much income, but I love the place, so I'm willing to suffer.
