It has been a strange year. Wonderful things have happened. Terrible things have happened.

I've been forced to reconsider some very basic beliefs and move on from some things that were very dear to me.

Is life a zero-sum game? When you gain, must you also lose? Terrible things happen. That much is true in this life and in this world full of sin. But at the same time, there are some wonderful things out here.

I do not know what the future entails. I have both greater certainty and uncertainty than I've ever had before in this life. But I suppose life is also full of contradictions.

To all of you who are my friends: thank you. You are a blessing.

We shall see what comes in this year ahead.
