Sometimes I feel trapped in my own mind, where the desire to be cynical is almost overwhelming. I don't want to be cynical. I try really hard not to be cynical. But it's a hard feeling to fight, when there is so much shit in this world.
But there are good people out there. They help. You help, since I know some of them will see this journal.
Perhaps the world and universe is pointless. Perhaps any gleaming light of joy is just a distraction from the reality of this hopeless existence.
Might as well try to be anyway. Because I'll be damned if I'm going to let something like fate fuck with me.

Also, darkness...light, metaphors...since everyone else is doing it. Ummm...without darkness then you couldn't appreciate the nightlight of friendship...
