IDK if you watched MLP:FiM, but Steven=Spike when it comes to his age & looks.
I wished someone referenced his "birthday suit" by name like his last birthday...
Otherwise, fantastic episode! (though I wish a certain androgynous character had showed up... still could later this week tho)

They didn't do any 'birthday suit' gags this time so calling it that didn't matter. It is interesting that both Steven and Spike age or change based on their state of mind in Too Many Birthdays and Secret of my Excess this time I guess he tried to act more mature and regressed when it went on too long. I'm wondering if he showed that little sign of aging because he matured a little character wise in the episode. He still has a lot of growing up to do.

I was hoping we'd see some of that teenage fusion too. She (shi?) is pretty hot for a mostly human.

I've been loving these so far. The last episode was so sweet but it's hard for me to imagine Pearl as 'terrifying'. "Terrifying renegade Pearl" Seriously? I replayed that line over and over on my TiVo. Rose is so different from the gems too so you can see where she and her rebellion came from. And the idea that multi gem fusions are deviant in the first place, not just 'perma-fusions'. So looking forward to more birthday.

I had to watch a really bad version on YouTube but I thought it was a splendid episode to explore the gems' past.
