Furry Tip #4: OMG Airlines

Furry Tip #4
So it does really cost that arm and leg to get into a airline and fly across the country! But let me throw some tips your way to help lower it by a few hundred (also works for short flights) and get some good deals.
1. Book in 30 days, hell sometimes even 3 weeks out. Most of the time you'll get the best deal IF (and only IF) the airline is trying to fill up seats on a empty block. The best system to tell you when to book and search multiple systems is http://www.msn.com/en-us/travel . DO NOT exceed 2 weeks though or getting a flight will cost more closer to the deadline.
2. Do not keep searching the system for the same date and time. Websites such as Priceline are very well known for making the price go higher because, they know you are looking for that true deal (sneaking bastards) .
3. Upgrade your seats at the touch screen terminal. Sometimes you'll get a MUCH better deal for a new seat such as first class. This also includes changing your seat when you arrive, as you might get a bigger space.
4. Avoid extra multiple bags and READ the airline for bag weight limits. One airline has different rules from another and you don't want that $50 surprise.
As always any feedback on your thoughts is fun, keep it civil and keep it 'merica!
