Heath food grocery list (help?)
I'm really not feeling good recently so I've decided to quit it with this day to day eating at fast food places and stuff.
I've been getting a ton of coughing and sneezing fits and my throat has been soar for 3 weeks now
All I know is I need help putting a "diet" list together for 2 people
A few quick dishes and a few slow cooker meals and then just some old fashion cooking/baking would be great
I prefer white meats but my husband likes variety
I'm not against vegetarian dishes either
Please feel free to recommend anything!! Even your own list!!
And on a side note: any one out there know any good silicone free shampoos? My favorite one just got discontinued 😩😩

Also, if its your allergies/sinuses, try eating local honey, it helps a lot. Like after a few months it'll lesson the affects of allergic reactions.
I've got a big thing of local honey actually, I add it to my tea in the mornings c:
And, well, depending on your budget there are ways to get vegan food that tastes exactly like fish and chicken. And by exactly like, I really do mean exactly like. Morning star makes the best kind.
You can also very cheaply make bean burgers and flavor them to taste like whatever you want, really. You can probably make the chicken things too, I've not really looked too far down in that direction though, i just make bean burgers, which are simple and easy to make.
Still I don't rent to be vegetarian, with my blood sugar issues already I don't want to worry about proteins and what not
A good way to spice up some basic ass chicken is to give it a good brine though! Just maybe tone down the salt, but this is a good basic brine for any sort of poultry.

I also like mixing tequila, margarita mix, salt, jalapenos and limes for a nice margarita chicken brine. Makes for tasty grilled chicken thighs. :o
Buy a nice George Foreman! Totally worth it!
http://www.healthfitnessrevolution......-about-garlic/ take a read of this, garlic is EXTREMELY good for you if your not allergic its like..one of the best possible things to have every day and you cant over do it with garlic, though youll smell garlicy after a while but...its worth it
Get some corn starch, extra firm tofu, low-sodium soy sauce, vegetables of your choice, oil of your choice and a grain of your choice (brown rice, quinoa, couscous).
Cook the grains; when they're close to done, stir fry the tofu battered in corn starch. Add in your vegetables (for things like broccoli, steam them a bit beforehand). Add in a bit of soy sauce to give it some flavor; add some seasonings if you'd like. Serve the stir fry over your grain, and tada- a quite healthy and tasty meal!
You can experiment with marinating the tofu to give it some extra flavor as well. Some groceries also stock pre-flavored tofu/seitan 'meats' that are dense in protein and quite flavorful, that you could use instead. They can be a bit pricy though. I personally like a BBQ "chicken" that I git from the grocery, and generally stir fry it with various hot peppers and a little bit of honey.
This principle can of course be applied to actual chicken as well, though make sure it gets fully cooked.
<.<
heat the sauce in a pan till it bubbles then let it cool and it gets nice and thick and sticky and then throw the tofu in, its got the consistency of chineese food sauce like general tsos
shit is the best
I also have a recipe for slow cooker chili that went over well, but I need to find it. The secret ingredient was smoked kielbasa.
We buy ramen noodles and random sauces ( like Alfredo or indian curry)(I know they aren't healthy, but they are cheap and make yummy meals and are easy to mix up with everything)
Burritos : tortilla, avocado, tomato, beans, lettuce, mushroom
put cheese and sour cream on the tortilla, heat it int he microwave for about 15 seconds, until the cheese melts.
heat beans, mash them, add a little salt to taste.
add a little of the avocado, add the beans lettuce and mushroom chunks, roll up, easy healthy meal :3
Sandwhiches, pile everything between two slices of bread with some mayo and cheese
we sometimes get a good sourdough or bun and put mayo and mozzarella cheese on each half, bake for 9 minutes and use it for the sandwhich bread, very very yummy :3
The fruits are largely for snacks but we use them in desserts all the time.
Generally veggies last a really long time as long as you keep them from getting contaminated. They wont make you sick when they go bad, the organisms aren't generally harmful to humans. You can check them visually and by smell. if they start getting slimey, you probably don't want to eat them unless you're really hungry. Eggs last a week or two after the sell by date, fruit you can check online, but you definitely don't want to eat them too early, they don't taste well, and too many unripe fruits can upset your stomach. Once they are ripe you can put them in the fridge to keep them at that stage for a few days.
Cooking is largely an art in itself. Just mix up foods in ways you think they will be good and try not to worry about messing it up too much. If you're eating mostly vegetarian there aren't many ways to make yourself sick.
But otherwise I advise people to avoid processed food as much as possible. If you're thinking what you're eating may be giving you health issues (sore throat and whatnot) its a good idea to look into an autoimmune diet where you cut out the most common irritants. That usually means grains, dairy, and some other inflammatory foods.
Also, start learning to read and break down product labels. If you're not sure what an ingredient in something is, look it up to see if it has possibly negative effects. That "if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it" stuff is a bit nonsensical (in my opinion) because pretty much every base ingredient has a more scientific name.
Anyway! I could ramble on about health for ages. If you want any more help or have more specific questions/concerns, feel free to ask!
