Like this was unexpected -- NOT!

We are less than a week out of the election that made a reality TV show host the leader of the world's greatest power. His election, according to those who supported him, was because he didn't represent the current establishment. That he was going to get things done, and bring the country back from the brink (though they never said the brink of what.) With only six days gone, let's see how well the new president-elect is doing:
He was going to stop the illegal flow of immigrants from Mexico by building this huge wall along the border. Of course, what he didn't tell people is that we already have a wall in some areas which has stopped nothing. They just tunnel under it, mostly to bring in drugs. Now the wall is going to be a fence in some areas...ummm, we already have a fence along most of the border. Right...
He was going to do mass deportations of illegal aliens, over 11 million of them. Well, that figure soon dropped to 3 million, and now "mass deportations" are most likely on hold. He might get a couple hundred thousand out of the country. Oh, wait...we do that now! Right...
Trump is going to put tax and tariffs on imported goods to protect American workers. Funny how there hasn't been any mention of those since he was elected. As most of the stuff that bears his name is made overseas, he'd be taxing his own products. Right...
Trump stated he was going to "drain the swamp" of special interests in Washington. Yet he's staffing his administration with nothing but people who have special interests. Right....
And finally, his claim to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton's email problem is not going to happen. He doesn't "want to hurt them." Of course, if he appoints one for Clinton, he also needs to appoint one for Bush and Cheney, who were using a private email server long before Clinton's was even set up. Right...
In fact, about the only thing left of Trump's campaign promises are the tax cuts that will give the average American about 1% to 1.2% back on their taxes. On the other hand, he and his fellow 2% will get somewhere between 10% to 13% back. And that's NOT counting things like the removal of estate taxes. We're talking real monetary dynasties of the type not seen since Rockefeller or Carnegie...and we know how devastating those were to the average American. Right...
Trump played the American voters for the idiots they are, and now every supporter who chanted, "Lock her up!" looks like an even bigger idiot. Right...

If he is the same guy as he was on the campaign trail, I hope he will get his TrumpupPence. ;) Being the Pres is a whole other world and set of expectations than he has likely ever faced. He now has to deal with pushback and compromise from the Democrats as well as moderate Republicans, if they don't get power mad and start overplaying whatever mandate they think they have gained. That Hillary continues to get more popular votes tells me that there is over half this country that finds him disagreeable, which is encouraging. This is the second big time in our history that will test the strength of E Pluribus Unum. :/
