Be Trix a dark and a sad place.

I'm sure you've heard it: "Silly rabbit. Trix are for kids!" It's one of those advertising slogans that defy the obscurity of time, just as well known today as it was 60 years ago. While the slogan's life is virtually unlimited, the life of the person that wrote the slogan is not. That would be Joe Harris, who recently passed away in Stamford, Conn., at the age of 89.
Animated commercials were not his only claim to fame. He, along with several others, formed a group called Total Television, producing a number of animated series that appeared on Saturday mornings including "Go Go Gophers," "Tennessee Tuxedo and his Tales," "King Leonardo and his Shorts," and "The Beagles." (One guess what that show was about!)
But Joe is most noted for one cartoon show about a humble and loveable shoe-shining mutt who became the scourge of villains everywhere, Underdog! In all, Joe produced 124 Underdog episodes acting as writer, artist, composer, or whatever else was needed at the time. He even composed the theme song.
He will be missed, but his legacy shall live on.

when i was 8 years old was 60 years ago.
so many lessons of history are never learned by those who's parents weren't born yet.
this is sort of understandable, but it does some times make me wish i could stuff them in a time machine.
i was wondering why i hadn't heard about any new underdog episodes lately.
tennisee tuxido is the only other one i remember for sure, although i think i may have seen go go gophers.
i sort of almost cringe at the thought of so many animated things being made into live action.
i'm almost afraid to look, but i am curious.
