Einstein defined insanity as, "Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result." So after more than 60 attempts to repeal the ACA, I think most Republican politicians fall under that definition. And now that they have a majority in both houses, they STILL can't pass a repeal bill.
You're right. He's not an authority on politics. But he is an authority on economics and finances and has the Nobel prize to prove it. The majority of his comments are based from that viewpoint, and are typically right on the money (no pun intended.) Republicans never have had a decent effect on the economy. For smaller versions of what they're trying to do to the US, just check out Kansas and most other Republican run states. I'm not even going to go into their current plan to remove the federal tax deduction for state and city taxes as part of their "tax reform" package. The incompetence of Republicans on the economy is a series of historical disasters.
There are other authorities on economics who say that Krugman is full of beans. And I say the same about your views on economics and the Republicans. I don't plan to continue this debate further-you're too much of an ideologue, and you offer no sources to back up your claims.
Fine by me. I can't argue with anyone who fails to comprehend the true ramifications of Republican actions or can prove my position is wrong besides just saying "You're wrong." Ideologue? I suppose if you count 50+ years of following politics and the actions of both major parties to form my personal opinions. Let me just say, the Democrats are not the most evil thing out there.
And I did read both about Krugman and Dr, Oz in The New Yorker magazine, which gave extended profiles of each.
