I'm up in Indiana with my family for a few days. It is the one thing I really needed to do for Christmas and I am glad to be able to do it. I've been lucky that there have been no snow storms on the way here, I just hope there's none on the way back. Everyone is doing well and are happy to see that I could make it for the holidays. Getting presents for them hasn't been easy since I don't know what anyone wants but I think that what was gotten will be appreciated.
It is a bit wearing on me thinking about things and what the future holds. I suspect it is just my getting on in years though I imagine everyone has to go through it. There's been very few disappointments this year, just small things like being turned down for a commission and not knowing why. All in all, I consider myself fortunate.
We've lost family and friends this year, may the new year be less tragic and much better for every one of us.
I wish to you all a Merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and the best for 2017.

That sums up my thoughts well. I hope 2017 is a good year, I'm long overdue for one. Have a merry Christmas, and safe travels home!
