Incompetence in High Places

The right-wing news sites are having a field day mocking Meryl Streep for the comments she made at the Golden Globes awards ceremony. Not unexpected from the Trumpites that can't add 2 + 2 because they graduated from a school system under Republican control. So what did Meryl say?
An actor’s only job is to enter the lives of people and let you feel what that feels like … there was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter — someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it. This instinct to humiliate, when it’s modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect. Violence invites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose.
Of course, the orange idiot had to respond to this perceived attack...
Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a.....
...and...
Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never "mocked" a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him.......
Bullshit, Mr. I'm-Too-Handsome-to-be-Wrong. I saw the video, what lead up to it, and after. It just proves you're too damn stupid to even know what a mockery is, let alone claim you weren't making one. That video was mockery at the highest level, and if I had a son or daughter who had done that, well, let's just say they wouldn't be sitting down for a while. One of these days you're going to do that to a leader of another country with nukes, and then you can kiss several American cities goodbye all the while claiming it wasn't your intent. But stupid is as stupid does.

i'm not too sure i understand why he feels like he has to though.
its his own mouth, and if he had any sense he'd know there are times he'd be better off to shut it.
as for nukes, i think he thinks nuclear winter is the way to solve global warming.
but if he thinks he'd be more likely to survive that in a tower in manhatten,
then that super bunker near colorado springs euphamistically known,
in typical military manor, as chyanne mountain,
as usual, he's not exactly thinking.
he's obviously giving the status quo enough rope to hang itself.
i don't think any of us know what he's actually thinking.
i suspect he's mostly running on hunches and trying to keep everyone guessing by appearing to be completely impulsive.
no way to know. i keep hoping he has some idea what he thinks he's doing.
i know one thing, he won't hesitate to screw is supporters. that he's already started.
and of course i agree meryl streep. she's pretty much saying the same things i've been all along anyway.
that any sane person would.
