Light and Shadow
In the previous lesson, we learned how to break apart complex objects into basic shapes.
In this lesson we will be dealing with;
=Volume: the geometric amount of space occupying three dimensions.
We will be finding the volume of three objects, different from the ones used for assignment #1, through the use of light and dark hitting their surfaces. :3
Imagine a single light source shining on an object. The area first struck by the light is lightest of all, while the area furthest from the light is the darkest. Objects also cast shadows whirch resemble the shapes themselves. The placement of accurate light and shadow makes a flat shape take form! ^_^
Try to pick three new objects to draw that are a bit more complex than the ones you did for Guild Art Assignment #1.
This will be another one week assignment, but if you need more time don't be afraid to ask! Okie-Dokie! ;)
ABSOLUTE RULE FOR LIGHT AND SHADOW!
SEPARATE THE LIGHT SIDE FROM THE DARK SIDE. Light side using 0-4 on the value scale, and 7-10 in the dark side. Values 5 and 6 to be avoided so as not to wash everything out together in half tone. NO LIGHT VALUE SHOULD EVER BE AS DARK AS THE LIGHT VALUE ON THE DARK SIDE, AND NO LIGHT ON THE DARK SIDE SHOULD BE AS LIGHT AS THE DARKEST LIGHT ON THE LIGHT SIDE OF THE OBJECT. Think about this a bit, it makes perfect sense, and is absolute for artisans…

I have one character on one page and another charater on a second page. The idea is that when you put the pictures next to eachother, the characters are holding hands! ^_^
It's taking me a while cause i'm revamping my fursona for one of the characters. And I thought up a new character for the other page! This one really means a lot to me, so I want it to be as good as I can possibly make it!!! :D
Thought there might be a chance that others might like a picture like this, so I added it to the list! :D
I'm trying to pull out all the stops with this one! Lots of details and stuff I haven't done before! :3

Since it's a little late already, and you are most likely asleep right now :P,
I will work on it thursday and friday! I get an extra day off this week cause they don't want to give holiday pay being the fourth of july week as it is. So once you give me these couple of details i'll started on it!!!

I'm gonna starting planning out the assignment when I get home from work tommorow morning. I might even do a bit of planning at work too! :D I've already got an idea for this lesson. And I was thinking that after this one, we should be ready to do a fun one. I'll have a bit of work to do before that one is ready though. :3
