About Meagan and Vale

[Transmission: Commence]
They are sisters. technically. After shark DNA was added to their eggs, they developed and hatched. Once hatched they were put into incubation tanks. So they are sisters in the sense that they came from the same lab, same method, and their tanks were side by side
You see, when I write a back story I kinda try to make it so that when I RP with the character, the back story can be transplanted from one setting to another with only a few detail changes where appropriate. And in no way to do I want to devalue my girls, this is just the background for them I settled on. They are adopts after all. And, I wouldn't mind a genetically engineered waifu or two in RL x3 (I don't want to die lonely damn it)
Grown in a lab, the girls started off as genetically pliable eggs, containing DNA chain halves that correspond with the patterning on the egg. When the time comes, a genetic solution is injected into the egg, supplying it with the other half of it's DNA, allowing for a zygote to form inside. It develops inside the egg until (like with any egg laying species) the subject is born, bursting from a shell that can no longer contain it.
It's important that the subject is moved quickly to the next stage, submersion in an oxygen and nutrient rich amniotic solution for where it will continue to grow and gestate. It's important the subject not gain consciousness before submersion, partly as it would affect the psychological development. Dermal sensors, electrodes and intravenous tubes are attached to the subject as they are lowered into the tank. This allows for monitoring of the subject as well as for the introduction of chemicals and hormone solutions to promote rapid development. Nutrients within the amniotic fluid along with a number introduced via the tubes prevent damage to the epidermis, which would normal be unable to keep up with the accelerated growth and develop a shit ton of stretchmarks if not out right split open.
In addition the subject is also gradually implanted with the necessary personality matrices and knowledge they will need outside the tank. Once the subject reaches the desired biological age their tank is moved to a new lab where they will meet their new host. Upon gaining consciousness after expulsion from the tank the subject will imprint on the first person they see. Which is the primary reason the subject cannot be allowed to awake before submersion in their tank. The subject has also been primed so the imprinting doesn't result in them believing their host is a mommy or daddy (unless desired by host). Imprinting instead results in a similar result to falling in love or gaining a crush, which makes the next moments extremely important. If the host behaves rudely or coldly, the imprinting may not be successful, resulting in a subject temporarily devoid of reasons to live (a bit of a waste resources). However, the subjects are not terminated, rather they are instead allowed to live their lives, without a host to care for them (what? I'm Christian, I'm not going to euthanize them).
- Just a note: during the process they are spoken to and played music to by the team outside the tank. How much it affects them we don't know as I've never had someone come back and tell me they asked that question, and I've never asked Meagan or Vale.
