PvA Tile Scaling Feedback NEEDED!
I'll make this brief. I made a chart composed of different tileset scales. This chart shows both the scale that was used in PvA before (16x16), and compares it to some newer options. These options being 32x32, 48x48 and 64x64. Each example also has a list of pros and cons to each option that I am able to foresee. However if anybody and spot a pro or con I did not see, please feel free to tell me.
One side note. The examples are using stretched 16x16 tiles for example mock up use only! The new tilesets I am gearing up for will be much more detailed then the old Pokemon sets that I have been using.

For help visualizing the size the tiles would be in relation to the game screen size. Here's a screen shot of the new project at it's 720 resolution. (Also note the ground tiles in this example are 32x32.)

Any all thoughts are appreciated!

Anyways, in regards to the scaling you're proposing, the 80x80 for character sprites seems pretty good as it currently stands, but what I'm looking at is that you're looking to go with the 32x32 tileset, simply because the size would be much more manageable to deal with.
However, if you ask me, I believe the character sprites could be bumped up a tad bit to coincide with a 48x48 tileset. Logistically speaking, it seems like a 32x32 tileset would be optimal in terms of scaling, but unless you bump up character sprites, I think 48x48 and larger wouldn't be fesable. However, if you did up the character sprites for bigger tilesets, it would also bump up the quality of them as well as their malleability for other subjects such as better-looking vore sprites if they are desired.
Now I'm just musing, but I've got some other things I need to tend to for a while.
