An update on the stories I'm writing
General
For those of you that have been paying attention, my personal life has become complicated after I lost my job at the end of March. I've found a new one, but it's much further away from home and I've been staying at airbnbs while I track down some more longer-term accomodation. And for those of you that haven't been paying attention *claps loudly* OI!!
On top of this, while I was at Furry Down Under 2017 I stumbled upon a novella by Arilin called "Goddess". It's the first time I've seen a macro themed story in print form, and apart from it being an excellent book that I would highly recommend to my audience (You can buy it here!), it also inspired me to write a macro themed furry novella of my own, and this time not just put it on FA for free, but try and get it published. Not so that I can make money from my writing, but more to prove to myself that I can write something worthy of being published in the first place. That would be a real achievement for me.
This has left me in an awkward position. I immediately started writing the novella, and at the same time naturally lost interest in Size Swap, which I haven't touched since losing my job. I do really want to keep Size Swap going, but it's a struggle given that I'm not even halfway through (it ballooned out to a much bigger story than I thought it would, it'll probably end up rivalling Welcome Visitor in length). And I know of course that it's the one people want to see the most, just this week I got a lovely note from a fan begging me to continue (thank you!! It's stuff like that that makes me want to!).
But at the same time, I have very little creative energy now. I hate this new job, and that combined with the upset to my life and my routine has left me with little creative energy to write with. And when I do get it, I can't say for certain which story I will devote it to. I actually have far too many on the go, and I'll list them here now.
Luvtail's unfinished stories as of June 2017
(In chronological order)
1: Global Renovation: Only the oldest fans will remember this. This was a few chapters of something that I started in high school that I'll probably never finish. I'll be honest, it was purely wish fullfilment, and not my best work at that. Don't expect me to ever touch this again.
2: Unfinished YCH: This was a story that I started writing for a friend but we both lost interest before it got to the good stuff. It was about a person finding themselves suddenly giant and going on a rampage, then being transported to an alternate universe where they're still big but are incapable of causing any damage, as punishment. I still rather like the concept and I'd like to rework it someday as a YCH, but it's at the bottom of my priority list and likely will never happen.
3: Cuddly giant alien vs the US Navy: This one I really liked, and I got quite a ways into writing it before losing interest. With a little dedication I could make a quick sharp ending for it and be done with it, but I'm holding out in the hopes that I'll do it justice someday.
4: Size Swap: The one I'm most eager to finish as its a fan favourite and a personal favourite, of course.
5: Anonymous commission: A story for a commissioner that try as I might I just couldn't get into, commissioner ended up cancelling. There's not enough story to do much of anything with, probably scrapped forever unless I can turn it into a really short YCH to make some easy cash.
6: Art trade with Atimist: Oh, I'd almost forgotten this one! It's all finished and ready to go I'm saving this one until December because that's when the story is set, and I think people will like it more if they're reading it at that time of year.
7: Zootopia themed fanart: Not started yet, just an idea I have. It actually could be combined pretty easily with the unfinished YCH idea, I might do that someday.
8: Spice and Wolf fanart: Another that I haven't started. Unlike most of my work I have a clear beginning in mind for this story but no end and no real middle. It'd probably work best as a writing prompt, it's just a single idea that I like but can't think of much else to do with.
9: Avaline: Working title of my new novella that I was talking about.
Oh, and that's not even mentioning two seperate people who want to commission me. I've actually completely forgotten who one of them is or what they wanted, that's how unlikely I am to even start those commissions. I'm so sorry for giving you false hope if you're reading this, but I never did promise that I'd get around to your idea and you see the reason why. :c Sorry to those that want to commission me but writing takes so much more time than it used to when I didn't have a job and life and so on.
In short, I apologise for once again stalling with Size Swap. I move into new accomodation over the next fortnight, once I've settled into life there I hope to feel more like writing. Though I'll likely still be glum until I can find a job I like better. I know exactly what I want, but whether I'll get it is another matter, we'll just have to wait and see.

I hope everything works out for you! *hugs*
Hope things work out for you Aussie, your writings really inspire my own and I wouldn't want to see that inspiration gone. I hope the best for you and the days to come... take care!

Losing your livelihood is a pretty damn good reason to drop everything else and focus on real life.

Ahhh - I can sympathized with the unfinished story thing one of my worst there is "Reptile Portal" which has been on hiatus for 15 years now. <_< Life has a habit of throwing a lot of unexpected curve balls at you, and dealing with them can very much eat all of your free time and energy. When it comes to writing, trying to do something that really feeds your creative muse is tricky - often that muse is most interested in a current project; or an idea that recently inspired, so trying to do something else makes the muse very sad. :P I hope you succeed in all this - just try to get yourself into somewhat of a daily routine and you'll get the time slots sorted out to make it all work. :)

Best wishes in your search. Good to hear you have found work again. Hopefully some good accomodations come your way here soon too.
