A Note About Glitchworks' Absence
Hello!
First and foremost, we would like to apologize for having an absence of at least three weeks. We are deeply sorry to our commissioners and our followers, who have been looking forward to our streams and to Glitch's work. We know we have really fallen behind on our workload and our communication again, but we're hoping that we can clear the air a bit with this journal as far as what's been happening in our lives, and to reconnect with those who are still waiting on commissions and streams.
Second, before we get into what has caused such an absence, we'd like to say that this week, we have been working on backlog and owed commissions, and are hoping to resume streaming this Friday and Saturday, if all goes well on our end.
Two weeks ago, Sepia/Boss (myself, the one who helps manage Glitch, answer notes, etc.) got into a near-fatal car accident. The vehicle was hit in the driver's side by an individual who ran a red light at an intersection, claiming he was late for work and didn't see me. The entire driver's side, both front and rear, had been caved in. The vehicle was hit so hard that it spun, and, consequently, was hit a second time in the front after spinning. My glasses had been thrown from my face and out of the car, and were found melted into the rear right tire.
The poor car itself has been totaled, and the last two weeks have passed by in a rush of insurance phone calls, doctor visits, and hasty trips to car dealerships. We have had to deal with outright harassment from the insurance company of the other driver, as well as incompetence from my own insurance company neglecting to contact the other insurance. I had been told I had 30 days to use a rental vehicle, but after I had accepted the settlement check, my insurance cut off my rental usage (which it had not been communicated to me would happen), so Glitch and I needed to find and purchase a car in about three days. Additionally, I needed to try and find a solution to replace my prescription glasses as soon as I possibly could.
Aside from the obvious hassles of the car and the insurance, it has been a very emotional time for both of us. Other than my left arm sustaining a severe scrape and bruise, I walked away without needing to go to the hospital, in an accident that could have very easily been the end of my life. Such an event was very emotionally overwhelming, and we had needed some time to recover what was almost a loss of life.

All of that having been said, we are still immensely sorry for the lack of activity and communication on our end. It has been incredibly difficult to even be online for a sustained period of time as we've been trying to get our lives back into order, but we are still apologizing for neglecting some of our communications with those who have been waiting on commission pieces and have been waiting to hear from us. We do not wish to form a habit of using "excuses," and in fact, was the main reason why we refrained from posting about the situation sooner, because we did not want it to come off as us asking for financial help or seeking pardon for falling behind.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc., please feel free to leave a comment or to note us with anything you may have to say. Again, we've been aiming to spend this week working on late pieces, with the goal to resume streaming this weekend.
Thank you so much for your continued patience with Glitchworks.

But how can the dick who ran a red light's insurance company be hassling you about his shit? If I had a client who'd done something as stupid as that the last thing I'd do is harass the person they hit, won't he go to court for such careless behavior that might as well have ended with someone dying?
Hope you'll both recover well from this.
I had called my own insurance agent, asking why I was getting calls and letters from the other insurance about missing information, and he told me that he "hadn't actually had time yet," to contact the opposing insurance, and this had occurred 10 days after the accident had happened, so he hadn't even corresponded in any way with the other insurance for 10 days.
Really lazy move from the insurance company, they can't have been that busy the whole 10 days after the accident.
What the insurance also screwed us over is the rental car...we pay extra for rental coverage, and it was communicated to us that a rental vehicle would be covered for up to 30 days for up to $30 per day.
What was not communicated to us was that once we accept the settlement check, 30 days drops down to 3 days, so we went from thinking we had 30 days to find a new car to trying to get a car in 3 days.
Atleast you got away with just scrapes and bruises. I had a look at the pics and holy shit.. that could've easily been your last ride. And all the insurance agents do are being fucking retarded? Both of them need to be fired and replaced with people with COMMON SENSE...
Sorry for the rant, but the insurance part had my blood boil a bit. >.<;;
This is absolutely awful and instead of caring about your health, the other driver is just an entitled dick. >.< Or atleast his agent is.
Still need to talk to the insurance more...they've completely stopped talking to us entirely, but we're still left hanging as far as if we get our deductible back, as well as a few other loose ends, however, its more stress at the moment than either of us are willing to haggle with for now.
Theres way too many people ignoring rules, and they often dont think before acting at all.
Now with the whole ensurence BS is bullhog, wish they get the lashback out of this rather then you who suffered, since the other driver clearly broke the law to begin with
Recovery has been good, although there's been a lot of anxiety with driving.
Insurance has been awful and unsatisfying, to say the least, but I'm glad we're okay.
Luckily, Glitch wasn't in the car, but it's been emotional for the both of us just the same.
Everything seems to be working out okay so far, just a lot of anxiety now with driving.
I'm glad you and Glitch are okay, and certainly can understand going incommunicado while you deal with the aftermath. :-/
It's been scary, there's been a lot of added anxiety with driving since then. I'm glad that both cars were repairable in the accident you got into. Ours was totaled, but I think the car of the other driver was relatively unscathed, honestly. I lost my glasses in the accident and and literally can't see without them, but from what I could tell at the accident, his hood was popped up and that was about it. He was driving a company vehicle, too, and admitted to driving away if he could have.
Luckily, Glitch wasn't in the vehicle during the accident, but it's been emotional for the both of us all the same.
Supportive stuff like this is really awesome to hear. Its been hard for both of us, emotionally and physically, so it means a lot to know that there are kind people willing to help.
Just doing a Check
How is everything? :3
Hope to see you come back soon <3 miss the streams and crazy talk x3
