Changes With Commissions
Hey everyone, how yall doing?
So I've been thinking about this stuff for awhile and it's particularly on my mind tonight so I figured tonight is the night to get it out there. I'll level with you guys, I'm about little over a month into my college courses and I'm just above my last thousand dollars in savings. To put it into perspective I started with about three thousand a few weeks before school started about two months ago.
Now I realize part of this is my problem and up to me, I need to start counting my pennies even more then I already have, watch my daily spending. But as you all know, commissions is basically my only income right now, so that also means that if I'm going to make this work for me I'm going to have get real.
That's why, one of my first changes to commissions is that I'm going to be removing the $20 doodle commissions, at least for the time being. It's simply not an efficient source of income right now, the amount of work and time to make a $20 dollar commissions is maybe an hour or two less then the amount of time it takes to make a full quality 40-50 dollar commission. Not only is it almost an equal amount of time, but to be honest, the majority of the 'work' in drawing a commission is done in that first half of drawing the doodle, planning the pose, drawing it from scratch, modifying it, getting the proportions and expressions, sculpting it so it looks just right. Everything after that is the more tedious type of work, going over the lines with sharper cleaner lines and coloring. so for $20 dollars I do the most of the work for $40 commission but stop short.
I'm sorry for doing this, I know that the 20 dollar option made my commissions a bit more accessible to some of you, but I really need to think of myself here too. If I have a skill and a market to exploit to get me through this tough time I'm going to have to implement a little supply and demand thinking here.
So what does this mean for all of you that have 20 dollar doodle commissions scheduled with me? Well I don't think it would be fair to force you to pay more to get your commission done, so I wont. Not exactly that is, but due to my life demands it means that I will have to prioritize the more expensive commission requests right now and do them first, regardless of order received. I'm sorry, I know that might piss some of you off but please try to be understanding. If you really do want to keep you place in line though, bumping your commission up to the $40 tier is an option, just note me and I'll mark your commission in my list as a price bump and keep you place in line as order it was originally received.
Again, commissions ARE still open, but now only for $40 to $50 dollars and additional charge for additional characters in the picture. This will get you a full color and simple shaded drawing of a character. No rules, whatever you want happening with said character, no matter how adorable, how naughty, how scandalous, I'll do it lol.
Also if you haven't, please consider supporting my art on my Patreon, even a dollar a month helps, and it gets you access to all the perks!

I wanna know what happened to MY commission from last month, I thought that wouldn't take more than a week bruh. I'm willing to pay your new rates but are you going to ignore it again?

Well I'm sorry but that was an unrealistic expectation Jamie. Maybe before I was in college that would have been the case, but not now.

Just remember I'm on that list, and I don't mind paying whatever extra you decide to charge

I haven't forgotten anyone on the list buddy. *pets* It's completely up to you Jamie, if you want to expedite getting your commission then you're more then welcome to boost the commission up to 40 bucks. Needless to say it'll get you the highest quality drawn version of your commission. But it's totally up to you.. I only have about 2 or 3 $40 ones in the list.
