I'd have my ashes stored in my dice bag. But I'm going to be burried instead of cremated. I have plans for my funeral involving Iron Maiden a sarcophagus and the Doof wagon from Mad max.

ohh, nifty. :) a fellow gamer... do you have dice bags for every sort of dice, too? I do, and if they wanna store my ashes in them it's needed because my fat ass won't fit into just one.

Exactly. I want my coffin to have a big Pharaoh Eddie decal covering the lid. I want the undertaker to cross my arms, and pin my fingers opening so I'm giving the horns. I want to rent the Doof Wagon (someone built one for Burning Man, so it actually exists) to have it at the head of my funeral procession, having the guy riding it with the flaming guitar laying down some sick Messhugah riffs on the way to the cemetery. I want my headstone to have a big fucking snarling red-eyed gargoyle on it, and the mouth will have a speaker that will play my entire Metal collection on a loop both on the headstone, and bluetoothed into my coffin. It will be solar powered so that I can headbang into eternity.

I keep all my dice in one big bag made out of an old pair of jeans. Those jeans saw some miles to be sure.

a stonemonger downtown has a collection of blank headstones on display, and one of them bears the head of Anubis... I kind of want that.

ha! I started to have that many dice (around 300) that I had to distribute them among different bags. the main one contains 130 D6, and is actually a tobacco bag. which is interesting since I don't smoke... two of those dice are forged on an anvil actually. found them at a medieval fair. :) they roll decent despite being anything but exact.

Yes, I understand that. That's how funeral homes make money though, They "Cash In" on the Families Grief and pain by offering "Upgrades".
Personally, Throw me in the Dumpster out Back for all I care. When I'm dead, it's just meat going to spoil. (I know that sounds grim...but that's the way I view it) Cremation is Cheapest and easiest.....I Really don't care about the ashes. I like the Ford Box idea though!

and then bury the box under some tree, and nail a little plaque somewhere... make it cheap. when my brother dies I'd be the last left of our line, so there won't be anybody caring for a full grave. I'd be more concerned of what happens to my art and the model cars collection...
then again I'd be dead and unable to influence anything.

Ahhh......Reincarnation....I'm not religious,But I AM Very Open Minded and have Thought about this on Many Occasions actually.....To be a Dragon Would Be the Absolute Best! However More Earthbound...It would be a toss up Between a Bird of Prey and a Wolf or Large House Dog I think. most possible the rules say that you have to forget about past lives, so it might not be as special as imagined.

This is true....Since past lives are forgotten it very well may lose some of it's value....But still,if I could come back as my Fursona Dragon....That would Totally be Kick Ass!!
Though I can see the reason as to why past lives must be forgotten, Otherwise you would live in a state of constant comparison. But at the same time, if they Are forgotten...then How would you know if your Moving up or down the evolutionary scale?
I read some of Buddha's teachings and his ideas on the subject. Though I personally disagree with his Philosophy on the matter. He said that if a person lived a good and proper life he would return as a Human. However,should that person commit crimes or do things that were Less than Proper he would return as a Lesser life form. The worst of which being an Ant. Now,to me Life itself is Equal....Whether it be Human Or Ant,we ALL serve a Purpose of Equal Value on this planet, Therefore Every Life is Equal. There is no Lesser Life Or Higher Life forms in My Eye's.

I haven't shed much thoughts into this, or into philosophies regarding reincarnation. not even while role-playing gaming, because such a situation hasn't come up yet. be it the character death(dead is dead, Jim) , or a magic user with a reincarnation spell to spare around.

anyway, IMO some people deserve to be reborn as a cobblestone. question is, which is more embarassing; laying face up so people would step on your face, or laying face down for an eternity of ass-kicking?

but all in all, as you say: life is equal. and the purpose is to keep your species alive, even with insects whose larvae grow in the ground for years and the adult lives a week or two, enough to create offspring. one might feel pity for them, but it's the way it is, and has been for millenias.
even a virus, counted barely among the living, has a purpose. I read somewhere that they assume that some evolutionary steps were caused by virus-induced mutations. and I find that plausible. because, why not?
