Something I've noticed
I hang out on picarto a lot while I'm writing, glancing at the art but mostly just watching the chat go by.
I've noticed something over the last few months, and it concerns me.
What the ever lovin' fuck is with the baby speak? With names deleted to protect the guilty, here's some shit I just saw in a stream today:
the birds were being an screm
...
YAYS!!!
...
Birb screm, it happen
...
sounds like berbs
In case you couldn't piece it together, the owner of the stream had to go and deal with her birds. BIRD is not a big word. Neither is scream.
Folks, real talk here. This is not cute. It just makes you look stupid. These people are native English speakers and/or completely fluent. Second/third language as English? Sure, misspell your shit and still get MAD props for learning someone else's language well enough to communicate. Particularly English. This shit is hard to learn for most folks that don't grow up with it.
Are you one of those baby furs with a diaper fetish? Then sure, talk like this and give the game away. I could maybe pass that off as being subtle, if creepy af.
Not your second language? NOT a baby fur?
Speak as though you like being credited with at least the bare minimum level of intelligence we like to see in grown up human beings.
There are other ways to be cute that don't absolutely scream "TRYING TOO HARD PLEASE LOVE ME OH GOD I'M SO ALONE!"
Wanted to get that off my chest.
Carry on.

I've also noticed people seem incapable or unwilling to say spooky when they mean it anymore. It's as though if you don't use spoopy you aren't 'one of us.' And may I remind those of you who DO use the word spoopy, it's LITERALLY one letter away from shit.
