Patreon and a kickstarter down the road?

With the time that will be needed and the funds I will be looking for, I'm deciding what I will do for income. I know Patreon would help but from looking at other what other artist have going, it not going to cover the outside help I want alone. Still, would help.
The question I want to ask is if it's okay to have a patreon going with the idea to go kickstarting down the road.
Perhaps it's just me making a mountain out of a molehill. I do want the game PvA will become to be as great as it can be, and I want funding so I can make it just that. Sounds, music, coding, art, all that I need help with and I want to hire people to help me, so that's why I'm figuring out incomes that don't need me standing in a towing yard for 10 hours a day.

It depends on how you're going to use Patreon. Using it as paywall wouldn't help.

I would like to have it as a means for people to donate. Paywall it would not be, but people can get extra goodies for donating. Sneak Peeks, Game art, stuff like that. Just trying to figure out what perks I would offer. I would only want to be fair.
