(please apply grains of salt as needed, unverified data ahead) As long as you don't say anything that gets you reported (on any accounts on there, linked/related in any way other than being yours or not), like anythink (typo, but it feels fitting) political, you'll actually be seen and get results from whatever advertising you pay for. If you do cheese them off somehow they'll just happily keep taking your money while setting your content and ads to invisible, resulting in people thinking you left without a word. Also, don't link your cellphone to your account unless it's a phone set aside only for facebook and devoid of any other data, they will copy all data from your phone (including contacts for everyone you know) and store it on their insecure servers. Granted, I have not experienced any of this myself and this is all hearsay/rumor/stories/what-have-you. Well, aside from the keeping stolen user data on insufficiently secure servers, that was a news story. (not that news always means facts, far from it in this day and age) But hopefully, whatever the facts, they've been forced to be more clear about their data gathering and have upgraded the security of their servers.
