Questions about the commisions I offer

If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe - Carl Sagan So my job search is going a lot slower than I would like, and I think I've got enough of my writing mojo back to make proper run at offer commissions again. I've got a couple questions for you guys before I open back up though.
First, I've been thinking about making an account on comiss.io and running my commissions through there instead of paypal and google documents. I'd rather do that than keep skirting paypal's rules against NSFW content and messy way of handling digital goods, but I want know if you guys have any opinions on it first.
Second, I think my prices might be too high. They were $20/1000 words last time I was open, but I'm considering lowering them. I have a number in mind, but I want to know what you guys think is a good rate before I say it.
