Helping the real lions

Lions in the wild are still facing the threat of extinction. With World Lion Day just behind us, I thought maybe some of you might be interested to know how you can help the situation.
I recommend the Lion Recovery Fund that tries to restore lions and their habitats throughout Africa. 100% of the donations go directly into helping the animals.

You may also have heared of Panthera.org, who also strive to protect the animals and their landscapes. You can elect to help the lions specifically.

For my German friends, the German site of the WWF lets you donate to their lion project with just a few clicks, starting from 5€, and they accept PayPal, too.

It would be amazing if you took the chance to get involved.
Thank you! :)

As for me, I prefer to donate my time rather than money. That way, I know the cause, the individuals involved, their motivations, and ultimately where the money that others donate will actually go. I realize that time is a commodity that some may not have much of, so they would rather give generously of currency instead. To each their own!
However, don't assume that others are uninvolved in pursuing their passions. I have a history of putting my life on the line while protecting a wildlife sanctuary in South Africa. I actually dedicated over a year of my personal time and comfort; shelled out personal funds to cover the cost of doing so. 100% voluntary, and I don't regret a minute of it! Well ... maybe some of it, but that's a story in itself. I know you probably didn't mean it to sound presumtuous when you typed "get involved in the real world", but it may come across that way to some people.
I included the sentence because I know far more furries that aren't interested or involved in helping their favourite animals than those that are. And even then, that's not ignorance or anything, it's maybe lacking an incentive or the reluctance to get involved in long subscription processes and being spammed afterwards, or maybe they just get sad when they think about the conditions in the real world.
So you worked as a ranger? That's awesome, and extremely dangerous indeed.
Correct!! I was a ranger. That was a lion's age ago ... good times!
Anyway, I hope your post does encourage some folks to support their favorite cause. If my pointless meddling is in the way, please do not hesitate to hide my comments. It won't offend me one bit.
Cheers
Still something has to be done. I don't know, as europeans who have driven away wolfes and lynxes mostly, still many people having fear of these precious animals, it sounds just wrong to go to africa and say "here, take my money and safe these animals while many of you are starving - oh and yes we killed our land predators, but there are better ways".
In the end it seems we learned... slowly wolfes are coming back as are lynxes. I hope the process keeps going on and I hope we can safe the majestic manecat, that our culture so often looked up upon, build statues of and that are just a great piece of nature !
Thank you for giving it some relevance!
I will look into every of these opportunities ^^
