UGH I wish I could change my username :/

I really don't want to go by or be known as Savannah Horrocks anymore.
I'm using Selkie Ingenue to represent my creative stuff as many places as I can, and going by Savi or Selkie if you like.
I don't mind being called Savannah but I am not going by Horrocks anymore except for when I need to use my legal name (and I may change that eventually)
I'm not comfortable explaining WHY at the moment in such a public place but. It's for pretty important personal reasons and life changes.
Anyhow. I know I could make a NEW account with the name I want... but I'm just exhausted thinking about doing that. I probably will at some point I just wish it were something you could change without having to do that...

I'm sorry you've had some stuff happen that makes you uncomfortable with your old name but I hope whatever it is will be a good change.
I know that process is exhausting though, it took me days to re-upload everything to this new account ;u; Though I wouldn't recommend my compulsive way of doing it all in one long go though. You could try and brake it up into a easier task, like maybe not re-uploading everything but your favorites or more recent art, and only uploading steadily, like 10 a day or something. Or you could keep this account as a 'archive' and just post new things in a new account and link to your old/new accounts on each, though if you're wanting to detach from the name that's probably not ideal.
As others are saying it's probably best to make that new account and get comfortable with how you'd like to be addressed/viewed--I've known at least a couple artists that have done so recently. Followers will make their way back to you even if you do lose some in the transition--I know I'll re-follow you if you do!
or at the very least, a transferance system that allowed you to move things over seamlessly
I did a name change years ago and it was a huge burden off of me.
I think I followed you from VCL to dA, and at the very least dA to FA to every other social media that now exists, so!!
It's understandable to need a name change after, what, a decade+ of internet use!
