Fuck 'em. I don't let anyone decide what terminology I use for myself or my characters. If someone gets offended, they can eat a dick. Some "friends" aren't worth it if they're going to be that way about it. Don't let anyone impugn upon your freedom.

I was wondering the same thing. Someone on discord told me not to use the term trap as it was offensive to trans. I was like wtf?

As a bisexual and someone that has tons of kinks revolving around gender-bending, crossdressing, and all around being queer, I gotta laugh at the types of folks that cry and whine about being "offended" and turn everything into some sort of "microaggression". I mean Jesus Christ what would they do if they came across actual gay bashing or violent homophobes? They'd probably have heart failure and crumble like paper, meanwhile they're getting mad and raging, sometimes (often) against fellow LGBT community members.

So yeah, like others have said, just ignore it. I mean, "fag" is a pretty harsh insult (depends though) and I love being called that (context is key).

I mean seriously as someone who has half a family of middleclass rednecks I've never hear "trap" used I've heard "Tranny" used but I've heard it used both in anger and amusement. so, again, context is the jkey factor it seems also it's kinda funny that Majalis who made Tales of Androgyny originally called it Trap RPG but then later took out all mentions of traps or trapping when referring to the main character because "offensive".

in all honesty the biggest thing people forget is that offense has to be given and not taken. Words are words and it's all about the context of the sentence that matters. Nah Herms were herm/dickgirl/futa. A year or so ago the intersex community got all up in arms about anything called a hermaphrodite and would try to get your character purged if you didn't change it. At least in the case of the intersexed folks being medically diagnosed a hermaphrodite WAS something that actually happened to them along with the stigma of being labeled such. This trap thing has gotten so ridiculous that certain artists will refuse to do business with you if you use the word "trap", but again femboy is fine. Because using a term that denotesthe fact they almost completly lack masculinity is fine compared to one that means they enjoy tricking people into thinking they're a gril or straightbreaking other dudes.


Also something of note, the weirder someones kinks are the HARDER they'll virtue signal the "trap is a slur" thing.

Basically it reminds some of them that they'll never be as "perfect" or whatever as fictional traps, so it upsets them. Mind you, that's just one explanation I've heard.
