Understanding EDF 5 and EDF Iron Rain

Plain and simple Earth Defense Force 5 is a sequel/reboot of the series and Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain is an Alternate universe where the attacks happened in America and not Japan. Why is thsi important? Because people are SLAMMING EDF: Iron Rain saying it's a shit sequel next to 5 not realizing it's a spin off because the Japanese assume Americans are too stupid to understand why the games are great and made a simplified version with prettier graphics and western FPS mechanics to help them understand.
It's literally the Mystic Quest of the EDF series but if it was done right. Basically you get your brodude roomate to play EDF Iron Rain and then get him into your nerd group to play the other EDF games, that was it's stated purpose that EVERY REVIEWER doesn't seem to understand. EDF5 is the sequel not Iron Rain.

Someone said it best. If you want more of the same, go EDF 5. If you want to try something bit new and different, go Iron Rain.
