macbook is nearing the end
I figured the day would come eventually. my 4 year old MacBook I got in college and used for a lot for the animation compiling is having problems and no longer working. every time I try to import video files into flash it just crashes.
it's been doing that off and on for about a year or so, but it just got to the point where it's virtually unusable. photoshop still seems to work fine, but not flash.
with that being said, I might not be uploading animations for a while until I can find a solution.

1) buy somebody's old atx case on Craigslist, does not matter what is in it.
2) invest in a 32 core AMD "Threadripper" processesor.
3) go to a website on the internet that lists which motherboard can support the threadripper, get that one also through craig's list or Tiger Direct; perfearbly one that can support 64 gig in ram.
4) use the old powersupply, but obtain whatever extra cables you need, probably through Fry's electronics.
5) get a video card that will work with the processor 2GB at least.
6) watch videos on youtube through your old applecrap machine that can't last more than three years before breaking down.
7) load win 7 professional instead of win 10 crap-spyware.
8) go to dell online website then the refurbished section to get a huge monitor at a discount, (it might have a nick or scratch in the casing but it it will work for the next ten years!)
Get whatever else you need from Fry's electronics. like a 2000MB HD 2 gig, cooling fans (stay away from water cooling) a floppy drive from the old case will work fine those don't usually ever wear out.
9) load your software. get the free version of IObit products (6), SuperAntispyware, and Avast antivirus.
10) do your animations with flash and blender like always.
Advantages:You can never upgrade a laptop, everything is soldered directly to the motherboard! in a build you can always upgrade as you go along. getting away from using applecloud allows you to expand your skills, (ie make more money). I found older programs that allow me to use features that apple decided to not allow in thier software since they created a machine that is mainly hardware based in capability. true it does not have windows hole programmed directly into the software, but all the perifriel software i mentioned are better than PC Matic or LifeLock since evwen the free ones block anything. Using a desktop does force you to work in one place, which is better for concentration than using Starbucks since no one can take the best table! - make your own coffee or get a sodastream from walmart!
In your case I'd look around for a different flash program, from maybe Autodesk or Corel. Or maybe something in flash like the Sony Vegas is to sound.
