Actually, I like your idea of the chained down Elder God thrashing about in his sleep and knocking levers about that cause printers all over the World to print gibberish. It reminds me of a poem by Stephen Vincent Benet, about the revolt of the machines which mentions how a rotary press printed the words "Fiddle dee dee!" in full three color process all over a certain Senator Sloop.
