Coming out of the other side
Hiya! Thought I'd make an update and vent a little. So I'm all moved into my new apartment. Thank you so much to those that helped me out, even if it was not financially it was all extremely helpful and got me through it. It was definitely one of the hardest moves I've done just considering the history of my old house and how long I'd been there. It was a rocky road I suppose.
Things did not go quite as smoothly as I would have liked, though. My old landlord is basically fucking me out of a lot of my damage deposit. It's sort of a long story but let's just say she is not taking it because of actual damage. I do have the option to take her to small claims court and a lawyer did tell me I had a good case against her... But I'm not sure if I want to put myself through that. Either way I have up to two years to actually do it so we will see how that goes. I doubt this is really that surprising to most people, landlords are very greedy and predatory. They will think of anything to take from you.
And of course. OF COURSE I had a surprise vet bill. Why do animals always seem to get sick at the worst of times? Luckily my vet allowed me to do a payment plan type thing so I was able to get my kitty the treatment he needed without going bankrupt. Hooray.
It's not all financial issues, though. My boyfriend left so now it's just me, my dog, cat and snake so thats been a hard adjustment. Luckily I'm fairly good on my own and I've had a lot to keep me busy so I'm just sort of doing my thing and getting life together again. It's all you can do.
On the bright side the sick feeling I was dealing with does not seem to have been Corona, though I'm still isolating myself as much as possible. And I love my new apartment. I'm still a bit cluttered up with boxes and what not and I need to purchase some new furniture when I'm able to but I quite like it here. It definitely has a better energy than my previous place.
So at the moment I am open for commissions on a slightly longer expected wait time. I need to complete a couple I put on hold during the moving process and due to having not drawn in awhile I'll need to get back into the swing of things. When you dont draw for awhile suddenly your brain and hand is very out of sync.
Thanks so much again to those that helped me get through this. Both irl and online. I'm very, very grateful. (:
