It's honestly no different than getting a helmet with a design on it that you like. It's a piece of protective dress on your body and I've seen a number of furries create SFW masks for sale so that people can both express themselves and stay safe. *shrug* I fail to see how it would be in poor taste unless someone made a design that mocked the dead or those suffering.

If he wants to make masks he can, if he wants to sell them he can, if people want to buy them they can. His masks wouldn't be the only masks on the market. Most of my friends are making their own mask using old t-shirts or a bandana, because they already have the material and it's free. I got mine for free from my job, a reusable/washable cloth mask. I am essential so I am still working.

Masks aren't a cure, just a tool to help slow the spread... not a cure. The masks won't make the issue go away. Supply and demand... if I need it I will just use a shirt and make a makeshift mask, for free, at no cost. I'm not being forced to buy a designer mask or even a cheap mask.

Nobody is being used because nobody is being forced to buy his masks with his designs on them... anybody can make a mask for free by using an old t-shirt. The CDC shows you how to do this on their website.

I'm fine with wearing bandana's out in public until all of this blows over... I don't wear these masks in my own home or out in my back or front yard. If I go for a walk and I know the area is clear I will walk without my mask on, the only time I wear the mask is when I am out in a public place where the six feet rule isn't gonna be an option or at work. If people choose to buy a mask with a cute design or a furry design, that's up to them. If masks are here to stay than yes, some might become luxury items but pretending people have to buy the luxury mask is ridiculous. The luxury mask made of cloth is gonna provide the same amount of protection as the cheap cloth mask or the homemade cloth mask. The luxury mask costs more because of the design on the front or the branding... I've already seen people at my job wearing masks with their favorite NFL team logo on the front... I assume they spent about twenty bucks for that mask. I also see plenty of people wearing a bandana or a homemade mask, that was free.

Stop using guns and zombies... the mask isn't killing the virus it's just keeping it from being spread by an infected person. That's why they urge everybody to wear a mask... not because it keeps ya from getting it, it just keeps ya from giving it to other people. i can go with pretty much any other sample but the outcome WOULD be somewhat identical. And again, its prospective. If you need another sample, i got one for you:

Okay... the mask my store provided... it fits poorly. It slides up and down my face when I talk, forcing me to adjust it several times a day. If I don't it will expose my nose or my lower lip. If I wear it in a way where it doesn't slide off my nose it rides up to expose my lower lip and if I slide it down to cover my mouth it threatens to pop off of my nose, and it does.

My homemade mask doesn't do that, but by your logic it is inferior to the store bought mask that needs to be adjusted several times throughout the day. So which is the better option for me... spend more money on another mask that might do the same thing or wrap a bandana or old shirt around my face to cover my nose and mouth?

If people want to buy a mask with his art on it, it is up to them. I would if I had a better track record with reusable, washable cloth masks. I also live with family who don't need to know about my furry stuff. Some will probably buy one with no intention of wearing it, exception being a furry con.

Not here, actually. Since this started I have seen less than a handful. People are doing good with just keeping distance. But, starting June 1st, they're required here in public transport.

Over here in NYC, they've been 'required' for public transit for awhile now. On local buses, the front doors (all boarding is via the rear unless you're in a wheelchair or walker) and handicapped seating area is cordoned off, first with plastic chains across the center aisle, then those were supplemented with plastic sheeting across the entire width of the bus (hung from pvc pipe) to isolate the driver from the passengers' exhaust.

We're all going to have to accept that masks will be part of the new normal. They won't always be mandatory, but enough people will think "better safe than sorry", or be comfortable enough wearing them to start feeling naked without one, that we will all have to get used to seeing people wearing them.

Once upon a time, food service workers weren't even required to wear hairnets. Now, we are far more likely to notice when one is not wearing it. The same thing will happen with the face masks. And masks with corporate logos are going to be, for most, just another part of the uniform.

Domino's Pizza, at least here, are already having drivers wear masks with the Domino's logo on them. Just waiting to see how many more brands follow suit.

I'd say yes, and do the same IRL until the vaccine and cure hits the bricks. Don't take things for granted and don't let the others pressure you into not wearing one. Use common sense and protect yourself in spite of the others.

The mask arn't in poor taste, the death and suffering surrounding the reasons for the masks are- so don't confuse the two. The masks would have to be able to perform the task the need to do, so they'd need to filter and not obstruct air flow. So it might be some sort of porous street-facing overlay to the real filter.
The cartoonish print would need to be straight-on POV, and the black on white would help to be a minimal surface area change to the surface of the mask.
I'm sure there's a few people around who would like a Sabrina's smile, or would like to taunt the world with a Zig Zag's smarmy grin.

that's the one thing I HAVEN'T seen around here, is pop culture masks. even for mainstream stuff. mostly I see people wearing the disposables, and if they go "fancy", it's an old skool bandana. hell, I think I'm one of the few that runs with a homemade. I'd say go for it.

- medical or dust filter?
